OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- A grand jury has indicted a Johnson County store for displaying obscene costumes.

According to the indictment, Spirit Halloween at West 119th Street and Metcalf Avenue is accused of promoting obscenity that is harmful to minors.

The store, which caters to both children and adults, is facing four misdemeanor counts.

They have a Spirit Halloween store in Antioch Mall every year and my family and I went in to check it out the same night this story aired. We were laughing about it cuz 2 hours prior to the airing, my son (he's 11) walked up to me in the store with a pair of huge fake bare breasts and a pimp hat on. It was hilarious to say the least. Then my husband found a huge blowup dick costume on the rack and wanted to try it on. They did have some racy items out in the open, but nothing that's going to scar kids for life. Figures that uppity JOCO would be the one to start bitchin about this. Thank goodness I live on the Missouri side where the religious police are not welcome.

Sounds to me like a bunch of costumes that at the most might provoke some interesting conversations with your kids. What a horrible concept.
