    Change we can believe in.

We were promised change and we are certainly getting it. I have never seen such blatant bribery in DC. Yes it's always been there but never before has it become a matter of pride how much you can get for your state by voting for something that most of your constituents don't want. I'm just so relieved that it is all happening right there on CSPAN so we can all see it. Oh wait, I guess that promise is one that has slipped through the cracks. I am a little confused though as to how it's okay to change everything and still have 20 million uninsured. I'm sure it's Bush's fault somehow.

I just have to ask. How many of those Obama supporters are still out there ?

They should all be hiding their heads in shame - while in hiding...

What an f'ing joke this administration has become. Obama lied SO blatently to get into office and 60+ million people bent right over and fell for it. Many of us tried to point out the blatent lies and they just didn't care because they were being told what they wanted to hear - from a teleprompter reader.... Now we're ALL paying for it. The 2008 election will go down in history as a lesson in "if you refuse to listen to reality and pay attention, keep your ass at home come the next elections".

I can't wait to see someone here accuse a Republican of being corrupt...

You want change? Bend over - here it comes and it's gonna hurt..........

What I want to know is how what the Senator in Nebraska did was any different than Blogojevich did when he tried to sell the Senate seat to the highest bidder? Selling your vote vs. selling a seat with a vote seems pretty similar to me.

Without piling on, I truly would be interested to hear if this is what the Obama supporters voted for. Is this what they had hoped to receive last November? Do they feel this administration is representing them and their causes (warranting their votes)? I've made no bones about my disdain for socialists, but wonder if that is what 60 million plus want, or if they misinterpreted (ie believed the lies) of our current president.

In short is there a sense of betrayal here or are we on course with what they had hoped for?

Trogdor you're giving these people WAY more credit then they deserve. Before Obama came on to the scene, they weren't paying attention. But then they got to vote for a (teleprompter reading automaton) rockstar, so they engaged so they could "be part of history". Shortly after the inauguration, they had already stopped paying attention. These people don't know a fraction of what's going on in this country since he took office. They have no idea what lies were told - nothing. Asking them if it's what they expected is a waste of time. All you have to do to realize that is look at what little attention is paid to news here. They voted for him, we're all paying for it.

I'm just glad that Chronic was correct, that the whole story about the government trying to make buying health insurance a law was just BS propaganda initiated by Fox News. Oh, wait...

I hate to think it but it seems Cal is right. That is NOT why I hate to think it. I hate to think that the same people who were so pro Obama are now not interested in what he is or isn"t doing. That they are not speaking up about the transparency that was promised oh wait,I guess there is transparency, after all votes can be openly bought and sold.

Re: Change we can believe in.

TM they were only interested because they thought "it was time for a black president", or "he's young and bright and reads a great teleprompter", or "he's got good ideas for the country", of couse not giving a DAMN that he had no experience that showed he'd be able to do anything he'd promised, or "he's for change". It's pathetic. Tell people what they want to hear and they'll jump right off a cliff for you. They just chose to BELIEVE a lawyer / Chicago politician - just incredible.

This thread is about current events, you me and trog are probably the only ones reading it. Go back to January till now and see how few news related threads were started or continued from earlier. Almost none. They don't care. They're more intrested in Brittney Spears pictures. And the ones who voted for him who do still pay attention are hiding in shame for the stupid move they made by voting these clowns into power.

By the way - the Republicans suck too, just not nearly as much.

I find it funny that regardless of what is brought up politically... the discussion does not matter... Some on here are compelled to use it to attack the intelligence of others.

This is the reason we seem to "not be paying attention". Having a discussion on this forum regarding anything of this nature turns into a pissing contest and a waste of time. This will be my only comment on this thread, just FYI. I have no interest in arguing, debating, or getting into the tit for tat insult war that will ultimately result from this.

There are things that I do not like about the administration, I have personally bailed on the healthcare reform due to direction it has taken. It is a piss poor option held on the back of "doing something is better than nothing". I disagree, doing nothing would be better than this garbage that will be forcing a bunch of small business owners to reduce their staff, close their doors, or worse file bankruptcy.

Now that I have said my peace, you may go back to insulting everyone and vomiting your superiority complex. Enjoy.

Sorry Korn. Didn't really mean for it to be a pissing contest, nor did I mean to imply that anyone was superior to anyone else, nor to insult anyone. I was interested to see if those that were so up on this current president, still felt the same. Since there is no interest I'll wait patiently for the next Tom T picture.

Very nice Tom. I would love to take a walk down that lane. Sorry to go off topic but at least we can talk about the scenery without anyone getting their feathers all ruffled. ( I think )
